Promotions:

Promoting all activities of
environmental protection by organizations and individuals,
especially local people and tourists, such as implementing
the rules and regulations on the conservation of Halong Bay.

Encouraging activities of
education about Halong Bay for community, especially youth
in Quang Ninh such as: organising movements and competition
on World Heritage site - Halong Bay's values, bring Heritage
education into schools with the aim of raising the awareness
of Heritage in the community.

Encouraging Institutes,
Universities, domestic and international organizations to
share management experiences in researching and conserving
the values of Halong Bay with Halong Bay Management
Department.
Note:
Any organizations or
individuals involved in activities of a socio-economic nature, joint
venture or conservation and excursion on Halong Bay have the
responsibility to conserve the existing heritage environment and
comply with the Decrees and Regulations on the protection and
sustainable development of Halong Bay.
The

and fragile environment. How people behave will make a difference.
Please treat this World Heritage Site with respect when you visit
Halong Bay:

Accept responsibility for the
environment in which you travel.

Be aware of your impacts on the
environment and society, and try to minimize them.

Choose tour operators which are
more environmentally and culturally sensitive and tell their
competitors that you did not choose them on this basis.

Explain your reasons for
behaving in an environmentally friendly way to other
tourists and those working in the tourist industry.

Find out and learn more about
the place you visit by not taking everything you see at face
value.

Guide others who are not as
well educated as yourself by setting a good example through
practical actions.

You can contribute positively
to a more sustainable tourism industry in Halong and help
protect it for your children and for your return!
Prohibitions:
-
Any actions which damage Halong
Bay's landscape and environment are strictly forbidden, such
as cutting trees, using explosives and the hunting of
animals on the islands and in the caves. This includes
anything that might change the natural environment.

Any acts of destruction on the
islands or mountains, such as the stealing of ornamental
trees, stalactites or drawing on the rocks, or building
stone steps, statues or altars etc., on the Bay are strictly
prohibited. Moreover, any religious activities or actions
causing environmental pollution to the mountains, beaches or
grottoes are strictly forbidden, as are burials.

Also prohibited are any acts
causing pollution or damage to Halong Bay's environment by
the discharge of sewage or waste into the Bay. All
operations of urban development, coal mining, production or
transference, need to take the technical measures required
to treat waste and reduce pollution in accordance with the
environmental standards of Viet Nam. Hard waste must be
collected for treatment.
